Steve / Town Engineer & Public Works Director
As the Town Engineer, Steve is responsible for planning, designing, managing, and providing construction oversight of Town projects such as buildings and facilities, roads, parks, sidewalks, and stormwater projects. He is also responsible for the administrative management of the Public Works Department. Since beginning his engineering career in 2001, Steve has focused exclusively on local government engineering projects from both the public and private sectors. Drawing from years of experience working on a wide variety of project types and budgets, Steve serves the Town as a "Jack of many trades" including development review, strategic planning, project management, and providing advice and recommendations to other Town Departments and Officials.
Steve has a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Engineering from the University of Central Florida, and is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina. After moving to Charlotte from Florida in 2007, he worked for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services as well as a private consulting firm prior to joining the Town of Mint Hill. Steve resides in Mint Hill with his wife and two sons and is an active member of the North Carolina chapter of the American Public Works Association.
