NEW SIDEWALKS

PROJECT SUMMARY

The Town is actively extending its pedestrian network of sidewalks based on the 2011 Pedestrian Master Plan.  At the direction of the Board of Commissioners, staff have been adding new sidewalks to the Town in segments.  New segments are ultimately selected by the Board and staff administers the project from survey though design, permitting, bidding and construction.  Funding for these projects typically comes from a variety of sources including Federal matching grants, State grants, and capital funding from the Town's Annual Budget.

LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES

April 2019: All sidewalk work previously directed by the Board of Commissioners has been completed. New crosswalks at the intersection of Lawyers Road, Lebanon Road, and Wilson Grove Road will open as soon as NCDOT installs new pedestrian crossing signals.

New sidewalk projects will be identified once this work is complete, as directed by the Board of Commissioners.


TOWN HALL FOUNTAIN

PROJECT SUMMARY

A fountain and flag pole plaza is currently under construction in the roundabout directly in front of Town Hall (the middle of Mint Hill Village Lane). The project features a fountain and pool with water jets and lighting as well as benches, prick pavers, and flag poles. The fountain feature is designed to hold the Town Christmas Tree and the surrounding plaza area will accommodate special events such as Family Fun Nights, fall festivals, and others.

July 2019: The project is complete and open for all the enjoy.
