Useful FBI Links and Information
The FBI along with the Mint Hill Police Department would like to provide the citizens of Mint Hill of the following available applications to safeguard your family and children.
The FBI Child ID App is a great way to quickly send information regarding a missing child when seconds count. The app provides a convenient place to electronically store photos and vital information about your child so that it's literally right at hand if you need it. You can show pictures and provide physical identifiers such as height and weight to security or police officers on the spot. Using a special tab on the app, you can also quickly and easily e-mail the information to authorities with a few clicks. The app also includes tips on keeping children safe as well as specific guidance on what to do in those first few crucial hours after a child disappears. The site features various application installs for whichever operating system your device or PC has.
The FBI's Safe Online Surfing Internet Challenge is a great tool for the community to use to find out and teach internet safety. The site features six grade-specific "islands"—for third- through eighth-grade students—highlighting various aspects of cyber security through games, videos, and other interactive features. Each island has either seven or eight areas to explore—with a specific cyber safety lesson—and its own central character and visual theme.
